FREE HOME ASSESSMENT: What you can expect during a visit

It all begins with scheduling a free visit. A Forester will be in contact with you to discuss a date and time to come out to your property.

A typical Home Assessment usually lasts 1-2 hours. The Assessor will walk around the Home Ignition Zone with you starting with the structures and working out through the zones to the 200ft mark. A form will be filled out throughout the process, noting key information in regards to the integrity of your Home Ignition Zone.

Once the assessment is complete, you will be shown the completed forms, and have a chance to go over any recommended updates or changes that should take place to make your home more fire resilient. Grant opportunities will also be discussed as there are numerous options.

If you have acreage outside of the Home Ignition Zone, a Forester will walk through a similar process to document a wellness report on your forest, which can lead to a creation of a Forest Management Plan that will help highlight areas of improvement, recommended treatment, and assistance through grant funding to achieve your Fire Adapted Property.
